I appreciate suggestions.

WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I have created this website to accomplish the following:
    1. for interested persons to find me and know more about me.
    2. to describe the services I offer.

    3. to make information available.

The buttons on the left provide access to most of the information.

Briefly, I am a physician with 50 years of experience as a psychiatrist, counselor and educator. I now live in Brazil with my very special wife, Maria de Lourdes Alves Vidal,
who is a clinical psychologist. I maintain my American citizenship, though the huge metroplex of São Paulo has been my home for almost 20 years. For those that do not know much about São Paulo, it is cosmopolitan, the financial and cultural center of Brazil - and has a population estimated at 20 million. I reside in the central portion of the city.

THE SERVICES I OFFER
    1. Personal help to individuals suffering from discomfort characteristic of inner
        disharmony. (see more at Briotherapy)
    2. Supervision of mental health professionals.
    3. Education regarding the following:
        a. Individual Briotherapy.
        b. Self-application of psychotapping.
        c. Presentations for both professional and lay audiences.

INTERNET-BASED EDUCATIONAL AND THERAPEUTIC OPTIONS
The advances in information technology have now developed sufficiently that one can readily obtain education about almost any subject, and also personal assistance with life challenges - no need to go to the school, university or professional offices!

SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT THE HUMAN CONDITION
To live is to be challenged - over and over again. Overcoming challenges is sometimes easy and sometimes difficult, but always possible.

Life without interdependence is not possible. We are always participating in a multitude of social relationships - with both individuals and groups. Perpetuation of a relationship obligates us to adhere to the "membership requirements." If we don't like the requirements, it is always possible to "opt out" and to select more compatible and rewarding relationships.

In open societies we live in a universe of abundance, not scarcity. To believe in scarcity is to deny yourself love and fulfillment.

Parents, no matter how loving, seldom realize that children experience innumerable threats to their existence and the inherent fear that are associated with those threats. If those fears are not attended by  parents, the potential for a life of suffering is increased.
